Reviews of Dr Midas and the Pirates
This book is extremely good.
My favourite character is Sniffer because I really like dogs.
I think this book is so good that it deserves at least two sequels and a couple of films.
It's also good the way loads of inventions come to hand as well as a time machine.
I have given this book an 8/10
Luke Guest age 12.
The story is about a prizewinner called Millie who goes on a time travelling journey with Dr Midas a brilliant scientist who invented a time travelling machine.
What I liked about the book was it was funny making fuel out of smelly socks for his time machine and it had loads of hi-tech machines.
I give this book 8.5/10

Comments on my short stories
Hi Susan,
I read your short story on authorvauthor.com and just wanted to let you know that I really really liked it.
I think that your ability to draw the reader into the story is amazing and the use of language and character building was some of the best I have met in a long time. When all that is said I still have to tell you that I am sending this e-mail because I would have liked to know if somebody was moved by my way of writing and I surely was by yours. Hopefully I will have the chance to read something else from your hand someday when I come across it again.
Don't know what's the most appropriate to say when you end things like this.. but in Danish it goes

"Susan Humphreys. Remember the name. She is this year’s very deserved winner of our 2007 writing competition and I would put money on the fact that this is only the start for Susan... It helps that not only can Susan write – really write – but she is also capable of putting together a compelling story with a beginning, a middle and an end. And that’s not as easy as it sounds."
